Standard aquariums are not "drilled" or reef ready. What does that mean? It means in order to use a standard tank for saltwater use, it will require you to use an external hang-on overflow box. This type of overflow delivers water to the sump by means of a continuous siphon. The water overflows into the siphon chamber which is in the tank, then this water is siphoned into the overflow box which then flows into the sump by means of flex hosing or PVC plumbing. The water is returned to the tank by means of a pump.
